TEFL Distance Learning Programme

The TEFL distance learning programme is designed for those unable to attend our courses in person and yet are keen to do the TEFL course and acquire the certificate.

The distance learning programme is more theoretical than the standard course, although skills development is still encouraged. A time frame of three months is given to submit seven Certificate Assessment Tasks concerning different aspects of Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Most people who do the distance learning programme find that they are able to complete it in about forty hours.

Cost and convenience are the advantages of distance / online TEFL certificate programmes. These courses can be completed from a computer anywhere in the world and usually cost less than regular training courses.

We do not recommend these courses unless...

(a) you have a degree, possibly even an Honours or Master’s degree and extensive teaching experience. This course would augment your existing training and give you an insight into the TEFL/TESOL field.

(b) you are not sure about a career in this field and decide to do the training as an introduction to TEFL/TESOL and are already teaching.

Given that there is no interaction with your peers in a training situation, no exposure to a practice teaching environment and no experience in a real EFL classroom, this training is not equal to that of interactive class-based training.

Testimonials

  • I recently completed my Tesol course and wanted to extend my thanks and appreciation. I thoroughly enjoyed both the theoretical classes and the practical sessions and found the whole experience professional and rewarding. I now feel sufficiently equipped to start my new teaching career in Japan, which I found very soon after completing the course. I would wholeheartedly recommend this organisation.
